Please take a look at our welcome video on the 'About us' page. We hope you enjoy the virtual tour of our wonderful school!
At Edith Moorhouse Primary School, our dream is to build a new school library that will provide access space and expertise to support children in their reading journey. An effective school library has been proven to have a positive, long-term impact for children. Libraries also provide safe spaces and contribute to positive wellbeing for all.
Studies show that reading for pleasure makes a big difference to children’s educational performance. Evidence also suggests that children who read every day have greater general knowledge, a wider vocabulary and have an increased sense of satisfaction.
Reading is the gateway to learning anything about everything.
Our current library offer is through department library spaces across the school. We are looking into the prospects of a classroom pod to be built on the school grounds to provide a new and exciting library space that all our children will have access to.
In order to turn this dream into a reality, we have put together a project team of staff from school and volunteers from RAF Brize Norton. Funding for our library will come from fundraising initiatives and grant funding.
