P.O.E.M.S

PoEMS (Pride of Edith Moorhouse School) are a small, friendly group of parent and teacher volunteers from the school, who are dedicated to raising funds for the school and enhance children’s school experiences.

We organise events throughout the school year, including school discos (always a real hit with the children—especially the tuck shop!), Christmas after-school events, Easter and summer activities, Year 6 leavers' celebrations, and non-uniform days.

Thanks to the wonderful support of our parent community, previous fundraising efforts have successfully contributed toward our new school library, a class set of tablets, cameras and other essential educational items.

During the 2025/2026 academic year, money raised through PoEMS funded:

  • £1,500 towards Science Week activities

  • £2,000 towards our immersive meadow mural

  • £1,000 towards rotation books for the school library

  • Christmas gifts for the children

  • Ice pops to cool down during Sports Day

  • Organising and hosting the Year 6 Leavers' Party

Please keep an eye out for key events in the school Newsletter and on our Facebook Group – Edith Moorhouse PTA – POEMS.

PoEMS always welcomes new fundraising ideas and volunteers to help at events. We do not ask for a large time commitment; even if you can spare just an hour every now and again, please come along to a meeting to find out more. Without your support, we would not be able to provide these much-loved activities for our children.

PoEMS Committee:

  • Chair: Camilla Dixey & Rebecca Lazarus
  • Treasurer: Lily Barfe
  • Secretary: Chrissie Bennett

To contact PoEMS, email us at poems.edithmoorhouse@gmail.com or send a message to the school office.

Join us in making this year's fundraising a success!
