    Jump Rope for Heart
Our School Council is encouraging us to get involved with this fantastic challenge organised by the British Heart Foundation.  The challenge raises money for the UK's heart charity and for our school. It also encourage children (and adults) to take part in a health and fun activity!  Children can purchase skipping ropes from Mrs Panter's classroom:
    An Infant Rope - £3.00
    A Junior Rope - £3.25
Please ensure that the correct money is sent in a clearly marked envelope. Children do not have to purchase a skipping rope to participate in this event.
Please visit http://www.bhf.org.uk/get-involved/events/schools-and-youth-groups/jump-rope-for-heart.aspx for more details.

    Local trips

As part of the Government’s drive to cut down on the amount of paperwork for schools they have issued new guidelines for the planning of trips in order to reduce the number of letters needing signatures for consent.

As part of their schoolwork your child will sometimes be taken out of school for short periods of time to visit places in the immediate vicinity of the school. This could be individually, in a small group or whole classes. The groups would always be fully supervised by a responsible adult or adults.

Under new guidelines schools do not need to ask for parental consent for each of these individual trips within the Carterton area. Trips that this now applies to would cover events such as swimming, sporting events within Carterton, walking into town/around the area, visiting other schools/places within Carterton.

As you know upon entry to school, and at the beginning of each year, families are asked to sign a generic consent form for all local visits. Please be aware that going forward this is the only documentation needed for these local visits to take place. Please also be aware that school will notify parents if their child is going on a longer visit involving travel by public transport, but that they will not necessarily be notified of a short local visit.

Please keep an eye on your children when dropping them off/ collecting them from school to prevent them from swinging on the gate and lifting the safety bar in order to prevent injury. Thank you

 Our Vision...

To create a learning community in which all of us can become

caring, successful, independent and responsible.

Welcome to Edith Moorhouse Primary School.

We aim to provide a happy and nurturing environment where high standards are expected in all areas and a firm foundation is formed to support your child’s future learning.  We recognise that different children have different strengths and we celebrate and value all success.

We warmly welcome visitors; please contact the school office to arrange to come and look around. I am also happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have, either in person, by phone or by e mail.
