We are a popular primary school in the Oxfordshire town of Carterton. We currently
have around 370 pupils on roll, with about one third of pupils coming from Service
Families serving at RAF Brize Norton.
The school is named after Miss Edith Moorhouse OBE, a Senior Adviser for primary
schools in Oxfordshire from 1946 to 1968. Her support to the innovations of another
local (George Baines) helped drive radical changes to primary education in the 1950s
and 1960s.
In April 2017 we converted to academy status as part of the River Learning Trust.
As a school, we continually strive toward reaching our goals and try to be the very
best we can. We have high standards in all that we do and we adhere to the three

School opening hours for children are:

Pre-school is 8.50am to 2.50pm. Total hours per week 30

Reception is 8.40am to 3pm (registration is 8.50am). Total hour per week 30.85

KS1 and KS2 is 8.35am to 3.15pm (registration is 8.45am). Total hours 32.5
